Ohio Senate Passes State Budget Bill
June 9 – Today, the Ohio Senate passed Sub. House Bill (HB) 110 which includes language to maintain the Public Library Fund (PLF) at 1.7% of the General Revenue Fund (GRF) in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 state budget.
The bill now returns to the Ohio House of Representatives, where it is expected to be referred to a conference committee. The two chambers have until June 30 to decide who gets to keep what from each plan. The conference committee will develop a final version of the bill which will go back to both the House and Senate to approve. At this point, the House and Senate cannot make changes to the bill and must either adopt or reject what the conference committee has finalized.
Once the House and Senate approve the final budget, it will go to Gov. DeWine for his signature. The budget bill must be signed by June 30 in order for the appropriations to take effect on July 1, the first day of the new state fiscal year.
